Jansetu — the branch
that comes to the door.

Doorstep banking for the customers a branch can't always reach — senior citizens, the differently-abled, and the last mile. A verified agent, a phone, and a tamper-proof workflow that turns a home visit into a fully-auditable banking transaction.

Why Jansetu

A bank's reach shouldn't end at the branch gate.

Jan means people; setu means bridge. Jansetu is the bridge between a bank and every customer who can't easily walk into a branch — the pensioner who can't stand in a queue, the rural household two hours from the nearest counter, the small shopkeeper who can't shut the shutters to deposit a day's cash.

It operationalises the RBI's Doorstep Banking mandate and a bank's financial-inclusion goals into one workflow — dispatched from the branch, delivered by a verified agent, and signed off with the customer at the door.

Service catalogue

Everything a counter does — at the doorstep.

Each service is a configurable workflow with its own document checklist, charge schedule and turnaround target. Switch the ones your bank offers on or off per branch.

Cash

Cash pickup & delivery

Doorstep cash deposit collection and cash withdrawal delivery, with tamper-evident pouches and dual-OTP handover.

Instruments

Cheque & DD handling

Pickup of cheques and instruments for clearing; delivery of demand drafts and pay orders to the customer.

KYC

Account opening at home

New account and re-KYC visits — Aadhaar, signature and live photo captured on the agent device, posted to CBS.

Pension

Life certificate pickup

Jeevan Pramaan / digital life certificate captured at the door for pensioners — no branch visit, no annual stress.

Forms

Document & form pickup

Form 15G/H, standing-instruction mandates, nomination forms and loan documents collected and tracked to closure.

Records

Passbook & statement delivery

Passbook update and printed statement delivery, plus TD receipt and certificate hand-delivery on request.

Two surfaces

A branch that dispatches. An agent who delivers.

For the branch

Dispatch & ops console

Requests land from any channel — call centre, mobile banking, branch counter. The console assigns the right agent, plots the route, tracks the visit live and closes the loop with settlement.

  • Request intake · queue · SLA clock per visit
  • Agent assignment by zone, load & skill
  • Live map tracking & visit status
  • Cash & instrument settlement reconciliation
For the agent

Agent field app

An Android app built for the field — works on patchy networks, queues transactions offline, and walks the agent through each visit step by step, capturing proof at every stage.

  • Day plan · turn-by-turn to each customer
  • OTP + geo-fence verification at the door
  • On-device capture · photo · signature · QR
  • Offline-first · syncs when back in range
Anatomy of a visit

Five steps. Every one signed.

Each visit produces a tamper-evident trail — who went, when, where, what was exchanged, and the customer's confirmation.

01

Request

Customer raises a service request via call centre, mobile banking or the branch. Eligibility & charges confirmed.

02

Assign

The console routes the visit to the nearest verified agent by zone and load, with the day's route plotted.

03

Visit

Agent reaches the door, geo-fence confirms location, customer OTP authorises the start of the transaction.

04

Capture

Cash, cheque, document or biometric captured on-device with photo & signature proof. Customer confirms.

05

Settle

Transaction posts to CBS, cash reconciles at branch end-of-day, and the customer gets an SMS receipt.

Trust & safety

A stranger at the door is a trust problem. So we engineered the trust.

Doorstep banking only works if the customer, the bank and the regulator can all trust the visit. Every Jansetu interaction is verifiable from both ends.

Agent identity

Verified, badged, traceable

Every agent is KYC-verified, photo-badged in the app, and bound to a device. The customer sees the agent's photo & ID before the visit.

OTP + geo-fence

The transaction can't start until the customer's OTP is entered and the device is inside the customer's registered geo-fence.

Limits & reconciliation

Per-agent cash limits, per-visit caps, and a branch-end reconciliation that has to balance before the day closes.

Where it's running

Pilots at three banks, serving pensioners and the last mile.

A scheduled commercial bank in South India runs Jansetu for senior-citizen doorstep services across two zones. A regional rural bank uses it for cash pickup and account opening in villages off the branch network. A district cooperative runs life-certificate and passbook visits for its pensioner base. Names available under NDA.
